Chess Part 1

Chess is one of the oldest and, perhaps, the best board game ever created. From generations to generations, from kids to elders, from school kids to university professors, from sons and fathers, chess has become widely played since the years of establishment. By playing this wonderful, tactically brilliant, and strategically important game and because of the unlimited variations that could arise in the game, it makes it more interesting and complex. Even the worlds best chess players are unable to solve all the variations on the board.

I am a big fan of this game. I started to really appreciate chess around two years ago. And, telling the truth, by studying and playing it more often, first of all, my game got better, secondly, I started to analyze particular moments more critically, I could've made better decision in certain kind of situations. I improved my memory and focus. And, eventually, chess made me a better person.

So, now, ladies and gentlemen, I would like to show you some beautiful chess games ever played.

Below, World Championship match between current World Champion, Anatoly Karpov and upcoming star from Baku, Garry Kasparov. This game shows the real beauty of sacrifice at the beginning of the game from Kasparov, no one expected him to make such a boldy decision at the World Championship Match's last and final game against a "machine-who-never-makes-mistakes" Karpov. Kasparov had to win to become the youngest World Champion ever (which he did), but Karpov needed only a draw or win to retain his title for 3 more years. Kasparov had an enormous mission to accomplish to play against Karpov as a black

pieces for a win!

Below, another brilliant win by Kasparov over Adams who's the highest rated player in England. It was played in prestigious Linares* tournament. Sadly, this tournament happened to be Kasparov's last professional tournament he has participated in his 20 year dominant career.

*Linares is a town in Spain which helds annual chess tournament among the world elites.

Below, Mikhail Tal's amazing piece sacrifice which led to beautiful win over ex-World Champion, Vassily Smyslov. Renowned for his aggressive, sacrificial playing style, Tal won numerous games with his unique attacking chess. Nicknamed as "Magician from Riga", he was also noted chess author*
